Grant Application

What is a Seed Grant?
Each seed grant will be between $500 - $2000 to help you jumpstart your new project, or to help you continue your current project. The seed grant can be used for a variety of things, for example (but not limited to):
  • Paying upfront for materials (for example, tshirts) that you will sell later on to raise funds
  • Paying for food and refreshments for a fundraising or community event
  • Paying for rental space for a fundraising or community event
  • Paying for equipment or marketing materials (i.e. flyers, posters, CDs, DVDs) that you will
    use to promote your project
Project Sponsor
  • Each student MUST have a sponsor from their school or 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that will participate actively in the ongoing management of the project, and process the grant.
  • We are NOT able to make a grant directly to the student(s).
  • Your sponsor’s contact information should be included on the Grant Cover Sheet form with this application
Timeline
  • All applications and backup materials must by received by 5:00PM on Friday, January 29, 2010
  • The Mother House Fund will review proposals and contact you for more information if needed. 
  • Final grant decisions will be made by March 2010. Recipients will be notified at that time and the funds will be awarded.  
  • Projects are to be completed by September 2010 and a formal Grant Report of how funds were used will be due by November 2010.  
  • The Mother House Fund may wish to meet with you.
